Proactive training programs

The NMIC team does not believe in a one size fits all PowerPoint presentation.  NMIC works with clients to provide a high impact individualized curriculum that uses real world scenarios and audience engagement tools to hone the skills of attendees. The worldwide pandemic changed the landscape of how we work and interact with one another, but the NMIC team did not rest in its mission to provide professional training for antitrust practitioners.  NMIC has developed highly practical training where participants make decisions based on their investigative plans cumulating in role player interviews in a virtual format.

NMIC’s team of experienced investigators and prosecutors can provide interactive in-person and/or virtual trainings on a wide variety of criminal and civil topics to include the following:

  • Investigative Planning

  • Antitrust Basic and Advanced Investigative Techniques

  • Identifying the Signs of Collusion

  • Interview and Interrogation Techniques

  • Planning and Conducting Search Warrants/Dawn Raids

  • Proactive Investigative Techniques

  • Developing and Operating Cooperators

  • Supply Chain Investigations

  • Developing and Using a Leniency Program

  • Computer Forensics and Document Review

  • Open Source Searching and intelligence Gathering

  • E-discovery and It Forensic Topics

The list of agencies that have received high quality, targeted training, provided by members of the NMIC team are many, and include some of the following agencies:

  • Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense

Private Sector Consultations/Advice

In today’s world of supply chain disruptions, there is an increased likelihood of upstream suppliers colluding to raise prices on the essential materials used by upstream manufactures and distributors to conduct their business.  The NMIC team stands ready to consult with upstream manufacturers to assist in identifying red flags of collusion and conducting investigations including conducting intelligence gathering operations, interviews, and cooperator development.  NMIC’s team can assist businesses in conducting and organizing an investigation, identify if there is evidence to make a complaint, and if so, the appropriate agencies to contact, and coordinate meetings with those agencies through NMIC’s extensive relationships in the antitrust community.

“Devon is an extremely knowledgeable and engaging speaker and trainer.  While I was leading the Hong Kong Competition Commission, Devon provided outstanding skills and capacity-building training to our staff of investigators.  The staff was very enthusiastic about the training and learned many advanced and useful skills and techniques from Devon that they were able to put to good use in their work.  Given his extensive experience as a Special Agent with the FBI, Devon is a tremendous and unique resource for skills training and would provide excellent corporate compliance insights."
